Primary Focus:

Provides technical supervision on the collection and interpretation of field data.

Coordinates the full time inspection of subsurface investigations including the supervision of technicians, Environmental Scientist I, drill crews, and tank removals.

Performs geological literature searches and routine and complex analyses. Evaluates the impact of geological formations at sites undergoing excavation and subsurface investigations.

Evaluates both routine and complex laboratory and boring data, generates geologic cross-sections, and prepares data for the inclusion in reports.

Composes routine and complex Regulatory reports, including any required recommendations for the approval of a senior scientist. Performs routine groundwater fate and transport modeling for inclusion in reports.

Prepares proposals on routine projects.

Updates job costing and ensures profitability goals are met.

Prepares invoices for senior review in a timely manner.

Oversees and aids in the performance of remedial pilot testing, as needed.

Ensures work is completed within workscope budget, an in a manner that meets regulatory/client timeframes.
Job Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related fields with a minimum of 3 years experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Drivers License, 40 hour OSHA trained, current 8 hour refresher.

Seeking MODFLOW Groundwater Modeling Specialist

Dvirka and Bartilucci Consulting Engineers (D&B) an environmental engineering firm is seeking to fill a mid-level groundwater modeler position in our Woodbury, New York office. Candidates must have, at minimum, a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in environmental science or engineering.

In addition, we are seeking individuals with 3 to 10 years of direct experience with the development and management of groundwater flow models specific to environmental applications. Candidates must be proficient in the use of MODFLOW AND MODPATH. Experience in MT3D, RT3D and MODFLOW-SURFACT would also be highly beneficial. Candidates must be capable of working independently. Provides project management for on-going monitoring and sampling sites w/ senior personnel oversight, sets up projects including all required administrative paperwork, maintains the field note book for each specific site, including applicable notes, sketches, and observations.

Adapts the scope of work as necessary in the field as changes arise, and maintains direct communication with the project manager, supervisor, or client.
