McLane Environmental is seeking an environmental Project Manager to join our technical team in Princeton, New Jersey. The applicant must have earned a B.S. or M.S. degree in geology , environmental science or engineering or related discipline; must possess excellent communication skills; and have 5 to 10 years of consulting experience, a significant portion of which was spent managing ground water related projects such as water supply (e.g., well field siting studies, aquifer test design), wastewater disposal, hydrogeologic site investigation and remediation, and coastal zone ground water management. Duties include report preparation, interacting with clients and regulators; estimating and managing budgets; and leading and mentoring project staff. Position requires experience with federal and state environmental regulations; and experience with petroleum hydrocarbon sites is desirable. Experience with ground water modeling projects, use of geologic software (e.g. Surfer, GIS) and data visualization software and strong quantitative hydrogeology skills, and experience in strategic advisory and/or litigation support projects are all considered strong pluses.

Job Description:
Engineering Geologists 1 are engaged in performing and supervising geologic and geophysical field survey work that involves various types of analysis (including rock cores, soil and aggregate samples), data interpretation, reports and the preparation of geologic reports of findings. Engineering Geologists 1 may perform and evaluate hydrogeologic, groundwater, water supply, solid waste and hazardous waste disposal site investigations and programs. Incumbents assist in field and laboratory analysis of complex geological problems and supervise the operation and maintenance of geophysical and geological test and survey equipment. Incumbents may also at times assist in the preparation and review of the geotechnical aspects of engineering and environmental investigations, reports, studies and expert testimony.
Job Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree including 60 semester credit hours in the physical sciences and mathematics, at least 30 semester credits of which must be in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, geological engineering or geophysics. In addition, you must have had two years of professional experience in geology. A master's degree in geology, geophysics, engineering geology, geological engineering or hydrogeology may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Education must have been received at a regionally accredited college or university, or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable practices.
Salary:
The starting annual salary for an Engineering Geologist 1 is $49,192.00 plus $1,264.00 location pay.
Work Location:
The Engineering Geologist 1 position will be in the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Region-1 office located in SUNY Building #40, Stony Brook, New York. The successful candidate will be a member of a remedial section in the Division of Environmental Remediation, Bureau of Spill Prevention & Response. As part of the oil spill response duties the candidate must drive a moto vehicle, carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., negotiate rough terrain, and be available for overtime work. The successful candidate must also complete health and safety program including annual medical monitoring, respirator fit testing, and OSHA training.
